Barford Remembrance 2018

At 3pm on Sunday September 30th, people from Barford gathered in the church to remember those who served and died in the two world wars. After a short service of Remembrance, the congregation filed out into the late autumn sunshine and stood in silence as the Last Post was played, ringing out over the fields and across to the village. It was deeply moving to think of the young men named on the memorial, and those who served and returned, how they had trod these same paths and lanes, worshipped in this same church, sat in the same pews.

The church was beautifully decorated by truly gifted people from the village who had given freely of their talents time and resources to create this event and make this unique remembrance. We thank God for these good people.
